      FAQ's

How long does it take to cure?
Deep Pour epoxy will cure in 72 hours.

How much mica powder do I add to the mixture?
Start with a small amount and gradually add more, until
you achieve the opacity desired. It is not recommended
that you use more than 3 grams of mica powder to
      each gallon of epoxy.

Can I use Deep Pour for a top coat?
Deep Pour was designed to be finished, therefore, we
would recommend that after it has cured, it is covered
with our Table Top epoxy, for a high-gloss finish, or that
it be sanded and polished for a lower-gloss finish.

Do I need a seal coat?
Yes. We always recommend applying a seal coat when
working with wood and other porous materials. The seal
coat will fill the small cracks, crevices and pores in the
material, which will eliminate most air bubbles during
      subsequent pours.

I see that this product can only be poured at a
depth of 2”. Can I layer it to achieve a greater depth?
Yes. You can pour additional layers of 2” at a time, once
the previous layer has achieved a tacky cure (approximately
24 hours). At this point, the epoxy will have
gelled but the surface will be tacky to the touch. For
larger projects, limit your depth to 1 1/2” at a time.

Can I pour additional layers of 2” on epoxy that has
      been fully cured?
Yes, but the previous layer should be sanded lightly with
a 220 grit sandpaper and then wiped down with a soft
      cloth to remove any debris.

      Is the epoxy food safe?
Yes, it is! It complies with the standards listed in FDA 21
      CFR 175.300, for food contact.

Is the epoxy heat and UV Resistant?
Our epoxy products can withstand heat resistance up to
120F. It is also UV resistant for indoor and covered patio
use, but prolonged exposure to direct sunlight or for
use in full-outdoor applications is not recommended.

      The Sycamore Table

My latest Upstart Epoxy project, The Sycamore Table, used 3 1/2 gallons of Deep Pour colored black as not to contrast with this incredibly colorful piece! The Deep Pour is so easy to use and came out flawless!! I love it!

      First Full Run

I started playing with epoxy and wood about 2 months ago. I wanted a hobby that was hard and made me slow down. I had to watch a video on how to read a tape measure, that is where my level of craftmanship started. My first attempt I tried to make a mold and do a small table. That was a bad idea. I had more epoxy on my kitchen floor than in my mold. Second attempt I bought a mold and tried to make a small table. It came out amazing but looked nothing like I wanted. Each time I learned a little more and more about everything. After getting hooked I watched more YouTube videos than I care to say but I started building confidence.

Next step, make a poker table for your son in college. Well, I probably went through 25 2x2's before I accepted that 22.5 degrees is not the same as 22 or 23 degrees. So I make my form and boy did I spend some time making sure that bad boy will not leak. Used silicone instead of whatever white stuff I used the first time and it was a game changer. When I took a pic of my form and AI told me it would take 10 gallons, I thought well I better do something different or momma is going to kill me. So, AI said fill it with scrap wood and just so happen I had more scrap wood from cutting bad angles than I could stand. So the wood you see in my poor is all mistakes I made along the way building my first table.

I first felt like an idiot when me and my son did the deep poor around the center piece. (I did the center piece first because I was not confident on…

      Deep Pour

I've used several epoxy resin and Upstart deep pour is the best for molds. Longer work time and fewer bubbles.

The attached photo are a few table center pieces for a church event.

      I received several compliments
